Parkinson's Program

The Wealshire's Parkinson's Disease Care Program is tailored to the needs of those afflicted with the illness. As a result, residents maximize their independence with the support of a well educated staff and appropriate rehabilitative modalities.

Resident Care

Our friendly, on-staff professionals carefully evaluate each resident to understand the nuances of their disease process, develop a tailored approach to care and design therapeutic services around their needs. Persons with Parkinson's Disease are then treated by a team of experienced specialists who address the complete individual.

This team includes:

• Program Director
• Neurophysiologist
• Nurse Educator
• Physical Therapist
• Speech Therapist
• Occupational Therapist
• Activity Therapist
• Dietician

Each resident participates in a highly individualized treatment program that is carried out by a staff trained to be attentive to:

• Precise on-time delivery of medication
• Providing visual cues to cut down on freezing episodes.
• Dietary consultation for those who are protein sensitive
• Close monitoring of motor and behavior functioning.

Outpatient Care

The Outpatient Parkinson program includes special services such as aquatic therapy, massage therapy, plus occupational, speech and relaxation therapy.
